Privacy
EdgeLead is a social-media analysis and lead-generation tool used by agencies and by the businesses they work with. This page says what it collects, why, where it is kept, and how to have it removed. It is written to be true of what the software actually does.
What we collect, and why
- Your account. Your email address and, if you give it, your name. Used to sign you in and to show who did what. Held in our database provider (Supabase).
- Client records you create. Business names, Instagram handles, Facebook Page names, niche and location — the details you type in so reports can be filed under the right business.
- Public social-media data. When you run a report or a lead search, EdgeLead reads publicly visible information from Instagram and Facebook — profiles, posts, engagement counts, and contact details a business has itself published — through a third-party data provider (Apify). This is used to build the reports and lead lists you asked for.
- Your Meta data, only if you connect it. If you connect a Facebook Page and its
Instagram professional account, EdgeLead reads owner-side insights that Meta makes
available to the account holder: reach, views, saves, shares, profile visits, follower
demographics (as age, gender, city and country totals, never individual followers), your
own posts and their captions, and the comments on your posts from the last 30 days,
including each commenter's public username. It is read twice a day. It uses the permissions
pages_show_list,pages_read_engagement,pages_read_user_content,read_insights,instagram_basic,instagram_manage_insights,instagram_manage_comments,business_managementandads_read. Withads_readit reads the results of ads that run as your Page or Instagram account: spend, reach, clicks, messages, leads and purchases, per ad and per day. It only reads: it never posts, replies, hides or deletes a comment, messages anyone, or creates, changes or pauses an ad. - Creators' public posts about you. Once a week EdgeLead reads the public posts on your Instagram account's tagged tab and the collabs on your grid, through the same data provider (Apify), with each creator's public follower count and the post's public views, likes and recent comments. Your agency decides which ones count as creator posts; the rest stay hidden.
- Questions you ask Edge Meta AI. Your questions and its answers are kept, with the figures each answer was based on, so you can reopen a conversation.
- Usage inside the product. Which reports were run, when, and roughly what they cost, so allowances and budgets can be enforced.
What we do with it
Build the reports, plans and lists you ask for; write the narrative parts of those reports with an AI model (Google Gemini), which is sent the report's figures and never your credentials; answer your questions in Edge Meta AI, for which Gemini is sent your question, the recent conversation and the figures it looks up from your own account (when you ask about comments, that includes the comments and the commenters' usernames); and show your own data back to you and to the people you have chosen to share a client with. Gemini is never sent access tokens or another business's data.
We do not sell personal data. Lead lists you build stay in your account.
Where it lives, and for how long
- Data is stored with Supabase (database), Render (application server) and Netlify (the pages you see). Access tokens for Meta and API keys for data providers are encrypted at rest.
- Meta access tokens expire on Meta's schedule (typically 60 days) and are refreshed only by you reconnecting.
- Reports, lists and client records are kept until you delete them or your account is deleted.
- Data read from your Meta account is kept while the account stays connected, and deleted when you disconnect it.
- Edge Meta AI conversations are deleted when you delete them, and automatically 12 months after they were last used.
Deleting your data
You can disconnect a Meta account at any time from the Clients page; that deletes the tokens and everything read from Meta for it, including the posts, comments, audience figures and Edge Meta AI conversations kept for that business. If you remove EdgeLead from your Facebook settings, Meta tells us and the same deletion happens automatically — see Delete your data for the details and for checking the status of a request. For anything else, ask your account administrator or contact us below.
Sharing
A report is visible to the account that made it, to people the client record has been shared with inside EdgeLead, and — only if someone creates one — to anyone holding a read-only share link until it expires or is revoked. Nothing is shared with third parties beyond the providers named above, which process it on our behalf.
